This economic device is based on the principles of free-falling impact. A certain weight of the ram falls freely, hit the striker instantly (the striker contacts the brain or spinal cord), and then cause the damage of the brain or spinal cord tissue.
For the position of target area, the device is firstly installed onto the X/Z operating arm of the brain stereotaxic instrument, and then the striker tips are moved to right above of the target area through the X-Y operating arms and the impact depth is adjusted by the Z-axis operating arm.
Technical Specifications
One groove window allows to observing the movement of the ram real time, and most important of all, the window could reduce the air resistance during the falling of the ram and accordingly reduce the experimental error.
The scales are clearly marked and the impact height could be positioned accurately to 1mm.
Impact height: 0-300mm adjustable, accuracy 1mm.
The standard complete configurations include five sizes of rams (20g, 40g, 60g, 80g and 100g) and two sizes of strikers
(3mm and 5mm) . Two sizes of 1.2mm and 2.5mm strikers are also optionally purchased for spinal cord.
