SLA500 Large Animal Stereotaxic

Model SLA500 Large Parallel Rail Stereotaxic Instrument, the most versatile stereotaxic instrument, is modular designed for large animals but can be used on almost any laboratory animals when used with  a wide variety of animal adaptors. Up to four manipulators may be conveniently positioned on the two parallel rails for several tools or probes independently positioned in one animal. 

Multiple patented technologies are developed that make the instrument having high performance of accurate positioning, smooth movement, firmness and operation comfort. 

The movement of Y-axis operating arm is based on the rolling principle, which is similar to the rolling forward of the train wheel on the rail, reducing the friction between the two pieces of metals, which greatly reduces the rapid abrasion caused by the direct friction between metals, and accordingly maintains long-term stability, prolonging the service life, labor-saving operation and comfortable hand feeling.

The design of X-Z axis operating arm follows the structure of small animal stereotaxic apparatus (please see the introduction of small animal stereotaxic), which has the high-quality characteristics of easy and stable operation, firmness and durability. The tilting and angling universal joints are also reserved to gain access to the side or underside of the animal’s head.

LCD display with 10um resolution may be installed onto the 3-axis operating arm. No need A/P Microdrive. 

The adaptor could be replaced easily, and the second and third ear bar posts are for matching to the small adators torwards cat, monkey, rabbit and rat etc. 

The two-parallel rail frame assembles Universal Swivel Stand which allows  to fast ajust the “up and down” height and to position the head by sagitally tilting (dorsal/ventral) and coronally tilting (medial-lateral).
